IRS filing reminder for 3 states affected by disaster
October 16th, 2023, is the filing deadline for 2022 federal income tax returns for most of California and parts of both Alabama and Georgia as these states experienced some form of natural disaster this year.
In California, 55 of the 58 counties qualify for disaster relief. The only counties not eligible are Lassen, Modoc, and Shasta.
In Alabama, 13 counties qualify. Those counties include Autauga, Barbour, Chambers, Conecuh, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Mobile, Morgan, Sumter, and Tallapoosa.
In Georgia, 9 counties qualify. These counties are Butts, Crips, Henry, Jasper, Meriwether, Newton, Pike, Spalding, and Troup.
